The U.S. is in Need of New Sperm Donor Laws

It's hard to imagine being one of 150 brothers and sisters. However, in 2011, it is reality for some kids whose parents conceived them using a sperm donor.

Sperm donation has been widely used as a treatment for infertility over the past three decades. However, current laws regarding sperm donation only protect donors and the infertility clinic, with donor families left being treated poorly.

Today, these donor families are trying to improve regulations, in order to prevent the spread of genetic diseases and even incest from occurring in the future.

Sperm donation has helped so many people, but when it comes to the big picture, its important to think about the future of these children, which is why laws should be reevaluated before this situation spins out of control.

Social Media and Infertility: How Much Do Couples Share?

When faced with infertility, sharing the news with family and friends is a difficult dilemma to decide on.

A recent study shows that sharing preferences between heterosexual couples vary greatly between the sexes.

According to the findings, women tend to share more about infertility with friends and on social media, where men generally rely on their wives for support.

For any couple dealing with infertility, discussing boundaries (as far as disclosing information goes) is an important thing to do, and this study is evidence of that.

Infertility is hard enough in itself. Talking with your partner about your expectations and concerns is a good way to strengthen your relationship and to also prevent any social media surprises on the world wide web.
