Pollution Passed from Mother to Son Contributing to Male Infertility


Want another reason to go green and save the environment? Well, here's a really good one.

Infertility specialists at Instituto Marques in Barcelona, Spain have discovered something quite scary about our increasingly toxic environment: pollution is connected to male infertility.

Toxins in the air (from cars and industrial areas), water and in processed foods are all contributing to this problem.

The study found that the mother's body absorbs the pollution over her lifetime, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding, these poisons are passed straight to her baby. For boys, this could mean damaged sperm from the get-go, which is a scary thought considering how industrialized our world is becoming.
