When a woman undergoes in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, there is one thing on her mind: getting pregnant.
But despite doctor's warnings about cutting out bad habits during treatment, a new study reveals that some women simply don't listen.
Just as a women should prepare her body for pregnancy by eliminating things like drinking alcohol, stress, smoking, and herbal medications, the same goes for women doing IVF.
However, when a team of researchers surveyed 118 IVF patients of an infertility clinic in Boston, the results were surprising.
The study revealed that 50% of participants consumed alcohol during their IVF cycle. About 75% consumed caffeine. 9 out of 10 women exercised (which is a risk factor during IVF), and 1 out of 10 took herbal medication.
