People gamble on many things: sports, horse races, card games, and slot machines. Today in the UK, couples are gambling for the chance to have a baby, and medical professionals aren't impressed.
The IVF Lottery promises infertile couples a chance to win $40,000 worth of infertility treatments abroad, along with a list of luxury amenities during the trip.
The goal was to help a few lucky couples avert the high costs of IVF and similar treatments, but many experts believe that the intentions of the lottery are not pure. Some claim that this baby lotto will give couples false hope in an already very emotionally draining situation.
