Giuliana Reveals Struggle with IVF and Breast Cancer

E! News reporter Giuliana Rancic has always been open about her personal struggles with  infertility.

Yesterday, however, she revealed some very sad news on the Today Show. She said, "Through my attempt to get pregnant through IVF, we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer. It’s been a shock.”

After suffering two failed IVF attempts (including one miscarriage) in 2010, Rancic decided to give pregnancy another try, but got more than she bargained for.

Although her breast cancer is in its early stages, she hopes more women will get screened, and encourage their loved ones to get checked as well.

She said, “I think we’ve done such a good job of raising awareness for breast cancer, but then you have to take awareness and turn it into action. The action for women is just make that appointment with your doctor, make sure you’re going to your yearly appointment, figure out how to give yourself a self exam. I am one of the lucky ones in that I did find out earlier.”

And as for the baby, Rancic and her husband haven't given up quite yet. They hope to continue with IVF after cancer treatment.

She said, “I’m not going to give up. I want that baby…that baby will have saved my life.”
